Mapping Office Locations

Every multinational corporation needs to keep track of its various offices around the globe.
This involves mapping them individually and then studying data such as number of employees in each office, the nature of the office, how much it is costing them to maintain that office and how much profit is being generated by selling in that area's market.
Flash world maps make this process easy and visually arresting.
Let us assume that we are studying the various Coca Cola office around the world.
The first thing to do in each case will be to segregate the various offices into sales offices, administrative centers, advertisement departments and so on.
Once that is done, we can color-code each of the offices and provide the key on the map.
The nest step is to mark the exact office locations on a map of the world with pin points that are color coded to show the kind of office Coca Cola has in that city.
Drill-down options are aplenty on a flash map and so we create a country wise drill-down option where every time we click on the office location, a flash map of the country comes into picture.
On that map, we can mouse over each point and obtain information such as number of employees and the name of the head in that location.
In addition, facts such as the email address of the office and also a homepage address if any can be provided within a drop down box.
This makes the job of a senior level management executive a breeze, He no longer has to hunt through tons of files, he can simply recall a single map and click on the relevant pin point in order to be able to obtain all the information he requires.
From a finance perspective, we can also create a map from a different viewpoint.
In addition to having details such as number of employees and the name of the head, we can include a chart which illustrates data such as sales, and infrastructural costs as well as expenses and eventually the profit generated.
These charts, however, will be relevant only for sales centers as the profit generated is irrelevant to an administrative centre or an advertisement zone.
These financial charts generated over the various centers can then be put together as one comprehensive chart which makes the job of an accountant or analyst rather simple.
