The Mk6 of this series was designed by Volkswagen's chief designer Water deserves. The design was said to be more aerodynamic. It helps fuel efficiency. It is also quieter than its predecessor. Following different kinds of criticism it is cheap and better than the previous versions. Mk7 is the immediate next version of Mk6. It is expected to arrive sometime in 2013. It will be the first Golf built on the MBQ platform. It is expected that the Mk7 will have wider footprint, lower roof line, lower driving position and steeply raked windscreen.
