Wedding Preparations - How to Avoid Big Mistakes

As the bride, you want everything associated with your upcoming wedding to be perfect.
However, most brides-to-be have little experience with making wedding preparations, so mistakes can happen.
Many times, mistakes are simply small annoyances, although some mistakes can be huge and unfortunately, very costly.
To make your wedding day as wonderful as possible, we have provided you with some great tips on how to avoid big mistakes.
One of the most important things to do when you first start planning your wedding is to create a budget and then stick to it.
Although it is usually tempting to go all out, prepare a realistic budget, making it easier to follow.
A budget is a vital part of the planning so if you find something you like that costs too much or you get a little over zealous in your planning, you can reign yourself back in.
Remember, most couples find budgeting a little challenging but by starting in the right direction, you will feel much better about the outcome while still enjoying a beautiful, organized event.
Another common mistake associated with weddings has to do with the marriage license.
Each state requires both bride and groom to secure a legal license to be married.
Since each state varies slightly, you would need to contact your local courthouse to determine specific instructions.
The county court clerk can usually provide information on where to obtain the license, the cost of the license, and any other pertinent information.
In most cases, the application for a marriage license needs to be completed within a minimum of 60 days prior to the marriage date, but again, some states require additional time so you need to check this out.
Then, as a means of saving money, while ensuring you get the best possible deal, your honeymoon should be booked months in advance.
As a part of planning, you would need to make reservations for your hotel, rental car, cruise, train, or whatever accommodation and transportation being planned.
Keep in mind that by booking in advance, you usually save anywhere from 25% to 50%! In addition, we strongly recommend that you always ask for a confirmation number for every deal booked and also get the name of the person you spoke with.
This information should be placed with your other important documents, just in case.
Finally, make sure that you request a guarantee for late arrival specific to your hotel even if you are sure you will get there on time.
Unfortunately, flights can be delayed due to bad weather or mechanical failure, things out of your control.
The last thing you want is to show up at the hotel, only to find you missed the check-in deadline by one hour and they have no more rooms available.
In summary, the bottom line is that wedding mistakes happen but with proper planning and knowing what the common mistakes are, you have a much better chance of avoiding them.
A little bit of effort in planning will go a long way in the assurance of having your fairytale wedding.
The key to a successful wedding is providing ample time to plan.
This way, you have the ability to look at details closer so important factors are not missed.
