Kids Are A Lot of Fun
I raised my own kids. Had four of them. Only the last one is still at home. He is a college student studing law hoping to work for the FBI someday. He is smart enough to, but I think it's a hard place to get hired into.
As my children left home, grandkids started arriving. Well one did before they really left home. I got to do for my daughter what my husband did for me, take her to the hospital at 2 in the morning in labor. It was really exciting.
Well all that excitement led to a beautiful baby girl. She is very much loved. All the grandkids are. As luck would have it, my other daughter was pregnant at the same time. She was visiting me during the day right close to her due date and, well you may have figured what comes next. Her water broke and I also got to drive her to the hospital where her husband met up with us. Another beautiful baby girl was born. They are two months apart and really good friends.
Two more grand children arrived, a little less on my part for them and now another one is due mid May.
I watch the grandchildren while their parents work during the week. Some of the things they come up with and do could win me $100,000 on the video show if I ever recorded it.
My oldest granddaughters are 4. One the other day wanted to know when she would be old enough to make her own decisions. I found that rather interesting. Her mother told her when she moves out on her own, well granddaughter is smart already. She never plans on leaving home.
I remember one incident with my oldest daughter. It was Christmas time. She was just a year older then the granddaughters are now.
She had attended a Santa's Workshop at school. She came home with her gift. Hid it very well in her book bag. We talked as usual. She is talking about all that was in the workshop and blurts out about my new coffee mug. I did my best to pretend I didn't hear it.
She bought the pretending and went on back to her room. Next thing I know, here comes her youngest brother, only about a year old out with the coffee mug. I was cleaning house and tried not to observe her running out and grabbing the mug from him.
Later she was really very quiet. I asked her what was wrong. She replied, did you see David?
I acted dumb, no I hadn't I replied. Then you didn't see him come out here with your coffee mug?
It was so hard not to laugh. I turned my head and pretended I hadn't heard anything. Just asked her, what about David?
She again runs to her room. Then she request wrapping paper. I guess she wanted to wrap the item before I could possibly see it again.
Christmas came, and I was very surprise with my gift. It was a beautiful mug with a Christmas Bear on it. I still have it. She's 30 now. She does know I knew. Now she is having fun with her little four year old that is following in her footsteps. See how well she covers up little things that happen in life.
