How to Extract Lsass.exe From Installing Media

    • 1). Insert the Windows-installing media into your computer.

    • 2). Open "My Computer."

    • 3). Double-click the media icon. If it's a CD, it will look like a disc and probably have "F:".

    • 4). Open the "i386" folder. Move it off to one side.

    • 5). Open a second "My Computer" window.

    • 6). Double-click the hard drive icon -- usually "C:" -- and open the "System32" folder.

    • 7). Drag and drop the file "lsass.ex_" from the "i386" folder into the "System32" folder.

    • 8). Change the file name to "lsass.exe" in the "System32" folder. You have now extracted it onto your computer.

    • 9). Eject the installing media, and restart your computer.
