How to Solve Problems With the MagicJack
- 1). Connect the MagicJack into a different USB port of your computer if you are experiencing bad audio connections, the device is not working at all or not starting up.
- 2). Turn off your modem and router used for your Internet connection for approximately 3 minutes. Disconnect the router or modem by unplugging it from the wall outlet. Plug the device back into the wall outlet. Make a test call to see if the issue is fixed.
- 3). Access "Start," and right-click on "My computer" with your mouse. Scroll down and click "Properties," and click on the "Advanced tab," click on "Performance" and then select "Settings." Access the "Advanced tab" and locate "Processor scheduling." Check the radio button next to "Background services" and click "Apply," click "OK" and click "OK" once more. Reboot the PC and attempt to make a test call to see if it fixes any issues.
- 4). Use a different phone to connect to your MagicJack as a test. Sometimes your phone may be of a lower quality or may malfunction, which may cause issues with your device.
- 5). Visit the MagicJack website and download a startup file that will allow the MagicJack program to start up automatically when your computer starts. Download and install the file under "Format."
