    • 1). Check the clock found on the outside of the oven, and reset it if it's not accurate. This prevents you from not knowing or forgetting how much time is left during the cleaning process.

    • 2). Remove all items, such as oven racks and pans, from the inside and top (the stove) of the oven. Place all items aside. Remove any items obstructing the oven's vents to prevent vapors and heat from accumulating inside the oven.

    • 3). Fill a bucket with hot water and a few tablespoons of liquid dish soap.

    • 4). Inspect the bottom and sides of the oven, including the inside of the oven door. Submerge a sponge into the soapy water and clean any noticeable stains. Dry the areas with a soft cloth.

    • 5). Close the oven door completely. Self-cleaning mode doesn't start if the door is not completely shut. Then, turn the oven's exhaust fan on.

    • 6). Turn the oven's temperature control dial to the "Clean" or "Cleaning" setting.

    • 7). Press the "Start" button found on the outside of the oven. Look for the "Lock" or "Closed" indicator light. If the light isn't flashing, the door is not completely shut and the self-cleaning mode hasn't started.

    • 8). Press either the "Up" or "Down" arrow key next to the temperature control dial to increase or decrease the cleaning time by one hour, if you wish. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.

    • 9). Wait for exactly one hour after the self-cleaning mode time has expired. When this time is up, the "Lock" or "Closed" cleaning light completely shuts off. It is then safe to open the oven door.
