• Be at the center of it all In New York City. Known as the fashion capital of the world, the city hosts two of the most popular and prestigious design schools in the country, Parsons and Pratt.
  
  Parsons The New School For Design, Manhattan, NY
  Founded in 1896, Parsons has continually made history in the art and design fields, breaking ground in 1904 as the first school to offer fashion and interior design programs. Parsons offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts program and boasts a total average school enrollment of only 600, providing students with more one-on-one time with teachers. Most recently, Parsons has garnered extra attention for being the setting in which the hugely popular reality television show Project Runway is filmed. Famous alumni include Donna Karan, Tom Ford and Narciso Rodriguez.
  
  Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY
  Pratt's fashion design program is unique from others because it offers students a chance to take classes outside the standard fashion design program. This allows students to take classes such as jewelry making and photography, exposing them to other artistic influences and possibilities within the art and design fields.

  Otis College offers a fashion design program that immerses its students in a design studio atmosphere. Students work in teams to design clothing for several mentors at the same time. Following along with the fashion industry's seasonal schedule, the program mimics what it is like to work at an actual design studio.
  
  Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise, Los Angeles, CA
  FIDM offers 18 different majors, a two-year Associate of Arts degree or a four-year Bachelor of Science degree. The school averages about 7,500 students with 500 teachers, a great teacher-to-student ratio. FIDM has three campuses located within Southern California and a campus in San Francisco. The school has recently grown in popularity because of its association with the television reality shows Project Runway and The Hills.

  Kent State University, Kent, OH
  Kent State offers a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design degree with emphasis on illustration or construction and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising. A five-year MBA in Fashion Merchandising is also offered. The school boasts a remarkable fashion museum that holds an extensive collection of 20th century fashion.

  The University of Cincinnati offers a 5-year Bachelor of Science degree in fashion design with an emphasis in design or product. Utilizing the latest computer software and technology, U.C. fashion majors study the form and function of design in relation to color and fabric.

• Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA
  The Savannah College of Art and Design offers more degree and specialization programs than any other art and design university in the world. The school averages 9,500 students from all 50 states and 100 different countries. Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees are available in fashion design, marketing and management.   Founded in 1986 by the cities of Florence and Prato, Polimoda is an internationally renowned fashion design school that equally focuses on the business side of the industry, offering programs in marketing, consulting and management.
