From a Download

• 1). Open a browser window and navigate to the Spybot website. A direct link is included in the references. In the upper right hand side of the page, click on "Download" to download Spybot to your computer.
  
  
• 2). After downloading is complete, double click on Spybot in the download location. You will need to choose a language and then click "OK" to begin the installation.
  
  
• 3). Update Spybot before using. After you install Spybot, run the program. On the main screen you will see a button that allows you to get the latest updates. Choose this and allow Spybot to search for updates. After the search is complete, click "OK" to download any updates.
  
  
• 4). Run Spybot. After downloading all updates, click the button "Search for problems" to allow Spybot to scan your computer.
  
  

From a CD

• 1). Insert the disc containing Spybot into your optical drive and close the drive door.
  
  
• 2). Click on "My computer." After the file opens, right click on the drive letter to your optical drive and choose "Explore" from the drop down list.
  
  
• 3). Double click on the Spybot file to install it to your computer. You will need to choose an installation language. Click "OK" and the file will install.
  
  
• 4). After installation, double click the Spybot icon on your desktop to open Spybot. Choose "Search for updates" and install any updates found. After the updates are installed, run a Spybot scan. After scanning click on "Fix problems" to remove any issues detected by Spybot.
