Characters:

Twilight Sparkle - A purple unicorn with magical powers. She is a pupil of Princess Celestia, and is on a mission to learn more about friendship from her fellow pony friends in Ponyville, Equestria. She has a pet dragon named Spike who serves as her personal assistant, taking dictation for her letters to the Princess about the lessons she learns.

She is voiced by Tara Strong, who also does the voices of Poof on Nick's Fairly OddParents, Ben in the Ben 10 cartoons, and Dil Pickles in many of the Rugrats movies.

Apple Jack - An orange pony with a Southern twang, she works harvesting apples on her family's farm. Voiced by Ashleigh Ball, who also voices on of Johnny Test's twin sisters, Mary Test.

Fluttershy - A yellow pegasus, she is soft spoken and has the power to communicate with and care for the forest animals of Equestria (who are not ponies). Voiced by Andrea Libman, who also voices Molly on Nick Jr.'s Bubble Guppies and Harmony Bear on The Hub's Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot.

Rainbow Dash - A blue pegasus with a rainbow mane, she is the fastest flying pony in Equestria and is known for her rainbow booms across the sky and her ability to affect the weather. She also has a rocker-chick sensibility and is somewhat of a "tomboy". Also voiced by Ashleigh Ball.

Rarity - A white unicorn with a perfectly coifed purple mane who designs fashion and jewelry for the other ponies of Equestria.

She is voiced by Tabitha St. Germain, who also voices Cheer Bear in Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot.

Pinkie Pie - A pink pony with an endless supply of positivity and energy, she has a penchant for partying (thus the balloons on her "cutie mark" on her bum). Also voiced by Andrea Libman.

Princess Celestia - A magical unicorn who rules Equestria with her sister Luna (formerly the evil Nightmare Moon). She is more horse-like than the other ponies, as she and Luna both stand taller with longer legs.

Spike - A baby dragon who was hatched during Twilight Sparkle's entrance exam into Princess Celestia's magic academy, he serves as a personal assistant and pet to Twilight Sparkle. He also has a serious crush on Rarity, and will often turn into a blubbering idiot in her presence.

The "Cutie Mark Crusaders" - Three young ponies who have not yet had their "Cutie Marks" bestowed on their bums. (Cutie Marks are the images on the rear ends of the ponies, usually displaying something regarding their best skill or talent, and often relating to their name.) Apple Bloom is the younger sister of Apple Jack and wears a giant red bow in her hair. Sweetie Belle, a unicorn, is the younger sister of Rarity and does not appear to share her sense of fashion. Rounding out the three crusaders is Scootaloo, a pegasus who is not related to any of the other ponies, rides a scooter and idolizes Rainbow Dash to the point of having a similar spiky mane-cut.
