How to Install a Kilobyte Memory Upgrade Card
- 1). Shut down your computer completely and remove its power cable.
- 2). Open your computer case by sliding off the side of the case or unscrewing the case cover. Different cases require different cover removal procedures, but most cases are easy to get inside.
- 3). Locate the memory card sockets on your computer's motherboard. These are typically the only vertically aligned slots on your motherboard.
- 4). Push the clips on both side of the RAM socket down with your thumbs. Line the notches on the RAM up with the notches on the socket. Insert the kilobyte memory module with firm and even pressure. The RAM can only be inserted one way, so if it does not appear to be going into the socket try it in the other orientation. Push the retaining clips up to secure the RAM. Put your computer case back on and plug the computer in.
