What the Hell Is President Obama Going to Do With The Rest of His Life?
President Obama was one of our youngest presidents.
That has implications after he retires from that job or is voted out of office, as in what is he going to do with the rest of his life? Is he going to go back and be a Senator? That would make him under-employed by his own standards.
Sure it is befitting since so many Americans are under-employed due to his economic policies and failure to produce the jobs he had promised.
Still, what is a former US President supposed to do when they retire so young.
Okay so, let's talk shall we? You see, the Obama's do not own a peanut farm, nor do they have any real construction skills, so Barack Obama cannot follow in Jimmy Carter's footsteps.
Perhaps, he might travel around and do some more teleprompter readings at $100,000 a pop? But he probably won't fit in at Davos, like Bill Clinton, because that requires a whole lot of knowledge and ability to think while discussing serious issues.
Obama probably won't fit in all that well in the old Chicago neighborhood, as he will be seen as an elitist.
He could go and just live on the beach in Hawaii in that mansion, and play golf, but how much golf can one really play? He's sure to get bored, and they government probably won't let him keep Golf Cart I with all the bells and whistles, satellite phone, and special glove box.
He could become the DNC chairman, but that too would be degrading and a step down if you will.
Going back to "community protest organizing" will probably feel beneath him too? He'll be too old to play basketball, but too young to fully retire.
He needs something to do, something meaningful? He has relatives in Kenya, he could denounce his US citizenship and go and become president of Kenya, perhaps really do some good there.
He could clean up the Kibera slum and make Nairobi a world class city, set up an Olympic Training Camp, they have great athletes there.
Perhaps, he will become another of our Nation's goodwill ambassadors, meeting with heads of state and helping with negotiations.
He is well liked by Hugo Chavez for instance, as they think alike.
If I was to be Obama's Career Coach, I'd tell him to go seek work in Hollywood, he could play "the president" in big name movies, they always seem to need someone to play that part.
Maybe that's what he should do, but I'd also advise him to take it easy for a while, and not write any more books until the dust settles.
Please consider all this and think on it.
