This Week In Weird: Piano Dog, Fire Challenge Gone Wrong And More
Piano Playing Dog Does The Waltz
Forget "Waltzing Matilda." Meet Waltzing Fido instead, as YouTube user Dani Rosenoer has taken the human-dog hybrid meme to a musical new level.
"The Dog Waltz" was written and performed by Rosenoer, and features Bella the Dog.
As Cate Matthews of The Huffington Post points out, Rosenoer is keyboardist of the band Three Days Grace.
Kickstarter Aimed At World's Biggest Penis Drawing
Here's a Kickstarter campaign that my friend Jonah Falcon might enjoy.
Jonah of course has the world's biggest penis, at 13.5 inches. But artist Alex Wong wants to go even bigger -- much bigger -- but creating the world's biggest drawing of a penis.
And as The Huffington Post reports, he's launched a Kickstarter campaign to get it done.
He's called it, appropriately enough, Dickstarter, and he's offering to add an inch of penis for every dollar contributed.
He started out with a modest goal of $100. But as of July 31, he has $431.
That's one big penis drawing.
Wondering why? He answers that question right on the campaign's page:
"It's everyone's dream to see a huge dick drawing," he writes. "For scientific purposes or otherwise."
A Hamster Wheel For Cats
Hamsters may not do much, but they are awesome at running inside little wheels. And if you're a cat owner envious of pets that run in little wheels, there's a Kickstarter out there for you.
It's called One Fast Cat and it's basically a hamster wheel for felines.
"There are many ways to keep your cat lively, giving them access to energetic companions, making a play session part of their day, and/or offering them tempting exercise equipment for use when you’re not at home," they write on the Kickstarter page.
"That’s why we came up with 'One Fast Cat' cat wheel."
They set a goal of $10,000 and have already raised more than $240,000, with the first cat wheels shipping in September. Donations of $1 will help the cause, while $199 will get you a wheel for the cat in your life.
Of course, there's always the risk that you might buy this for your cat... and the little ingrate will ignore the wheel and sit in the box it came in instead.
Woman Eats Chips Off Train Floor
Does the five-second rule apply on nasty train floors? It almost doesn't matter, because it looks like the chips were there for longer than that -- but that doesn't stop a woman from reaching down, gathering them up and eating them (along with whatever else is on them).
You can watch the clip over at The Huffington Post.
I can't help but wonder if there was some alcohol involved, because what goes better with a warm beer than floor chips?
Believe it or not, that's not the only weird eating clip we have this week...
Ever wonder what Styrofoam tastes like? No?
Well this guy appears to have wondered -- and at some point, he decided to find out. What's more, he seems to like it, because he keeps on eating it.
Check out the full video over at The Huffington Post.
I had never heard of the "fire challenge" before but apparently it's a thing and it involves setting yourself on fire.
What could possibly go wrong with that, right?
As you might imagine, everything. As a video posted on Live Leak shows, a man who took part in the challenge set his entire torso on fire before jumping into a tub to put it out.
Firefighters of course say this is a really bad idea.
"What they don't show at the end of the videos is the consequences of doing this, getting second and third degree burns," Lexington Fire Department Captain Chris Harrod said, according to the New York Daily News, which also posted an animated gif of the fire challenge.
