Since the Creation of the World Invisible Qualities Have Been Seen, Understood By What Has Been Made
Only a madman could possibly deny
the existence of the Lord
For what is invisible can surely be seen
from any point of view
You can see it in your lover's eyes
or in the subtlety of her smile
In the faintness of her breath
and in the sweetness of her caress
You may also find it in the actions of a child
in their trust, their innocence and their love
In the majesty of mountains you can see it from a cliff
When the undercurrent flows in the outpouring of the rain
drifting in a spate forever circling in the undertow of a swell
But shall it manifest in a vision, a view or a scene
it is from a mystic who has experienced so much to be learned
In a passage that may be uncovered in the land of a different realm
He can see it in the countenance of a face unseen,
or from an argil, marl or clunch
For all of it comes from an ancient shard
that has yet to be revealed to many people who live upon the earth
But the potterer is a dilettante who has developed the ability
to create a ewer of angels all dressed in the finest silk
As it is within the orbit of the unknown that the sprightly spirits run high
extending their reach to those who walk upon the land, the loess and the loam
For this is where the kingdoms depart and the humans travail
Searching for new ways to experience god and to live within her grace
But it happens whether you have begun to realize it or not
Silent forces that are never seen anywhere within the sky
But their presence may only be felt upon the land
In the consciousness of people who may be unmindful of their existence
In a cavern however they might be taught to touch,
to feel the impressions of a godly principal or ideal
As it is in the clutches of a hollow that a wandering man may receive the impetus
so that he might be reborn
So allow him to grope and permit him to gaze, a small step and fall
For it is within an hourglass that he shall travel
seeing things that others have never seen,
feeling sensations that people have never felt
It is a new realization that will come to bear, the light of a new morning
that might begin to make its mark
