Christians should Soar like Butterflies
Christians should Soar like Butterflies: By Lizzie Ducking- There is a metamorphosis by which a caterpillar goes through, at a certain point in his life he is transformed from a caterpillar that crawls around on the ground into a beautiful butterfly that flies in the air.
If we would think about this for a minute we would see that before we became born again, we were like that caterpillar crawling around on the ground but when we became born again, a change took place inside of us and we became like that butterfly, beautiful with the power and ability to soar.
My pastor told a story to us, she said she saw a butterfly crawling around on the ground and she said what a pitiful sight. Butterflies are supposed to fly. As she spoke, I got a picture of that in my mind and I said what a pitiful sight. That butterfly's wing had been damaged causing an inability for it to fly.
What has caused us to not soar? What has caused us to not have enough? What is still causing us to crawl around on the ground like that butterfly when all the promises of God is yes and amen and is right at our fingertip to receive it? One word can sum up the entire matter and it is disobedience. Disobedience to the word of God causes us to crawl around on the ground even though we have been saved.
The bible is our guide to prosperity, good health, long life, peace, joy, protection and love. If we do not have faith to believe what it say and do not apply it's principles we will forever be like that beautiful butterfly crawling around in the dirt.
God said his people perish for lack of knowledge. If we do not have knowledge, it is because we have not sought it out. He has made it available to us but it is up to us to learn of it and receive it.
In order for us to be able to soar, we must first believe that God is real and secondly we must know who we are in Christ Jesus and what belongs to us according to His word. When we learn this and apply it, things will start to change for us. It will continue to change as we grow in the knowledge of God and in the power of His might.
