How to Make a Dash on a Phone Keyboard
- 1). Examine the phone keypad. Phones with full keyboards usually have the dash on a specific key. You may be required to press a "Shift" or "Function" key to type the dash.
- 2). Press the "1" key on a phone with a regular T9 keypad. Unlike the other numbers, the 1 key does not have any letters assigned to it. It functions as the special characters key on most phones.
- 3). Tap the "1" key repeatedly to scroll through the characters on mult-tap keypads. Press the left or right directional button to scroll through the symbols on other phones.
