    • 1). Charge the battery for your camera. You do not want your battery to die at any time, especially while looking through pictures, because there is a small chance you could lose all of your data.

    • 2). Access your pictures by pressing the play button on the left side while the camera is on. Your most recent photo will appear on the viewing screen.

    • 3). Press the menu button in the top corner on the left side of your camera. A menu screen will pop up, featuring four sub-menus.

    • 4). Press the right navigation arrow to access the Playback Features menu. Press the down arrow once to select the Protect button and then press the Set button.

    • 5). Scroll through your pictures and when you find shots that you would like to lock, press the Set button.

    • 6). Look for a little picture of a key in the bottom right corner of the screen. This means that your picture is locked and protected. Press the Set button again to unlock the picture.

    • 7). Press the menu button after you have locked all of the pictures that you want. This will take you back to the main menu screen and now your pictures are secure on the camera.

    • 8). Shut the camera off or take more pictures. Pictures will remain locked until you manually unlock them.
