Destination wedding do cost more, but the biggest advantage by far is that there isn't much stress, chances are you'll pick a wedding planner and he or she will do everything for you, and just keep you up with updates.
Also, don't forget to decide if you want to do a wedding for 450 people at home, or spend the same amount of money but get only 50 people and do it somewhere on the other side of the world? Or if everyone pays for there own airfare and hotel, then there is no reason why you can't host a 450 wedding in some other country.
Just remember to do your wedding checklist in a style that you will understand and your wedding planner will understand if you are planning on hiring one.
