Ushuaia is the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, located in southern Argentina, and the southernmost city in the world. The city attracts tourists interested in viewing picturesque lakes, mountains and forests. The region offers opportunities for hiking, horse riding, diving and skiing at Mount Castor Ski Resort. Ushuaia also offers dining, shopping and accommodation options. - Las Hayas Resort Hotel, located west of Ushuaia, is situated on 12 acres of natural beech forest. Fodor's recommends requesting a canal view room for views of the Beagle Channel. The hotel features 85 guest rooms and seven suites individually decorated in bright colors, rich tapestries and upholstered walls. The on-site restaurant, La Martial, serves international cuisine accompanied by an extensive wine list. Guests can also have cocktails in the hotel lounge and bar area. A health spa is connected to the hotel via a suspended glass bridge and features a fitness room, an indoor, heated swimming pool and a hot tub. During summer months, the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle service to downtown Ushuaia.
- Tierra de Leyendas is located on a hill overlooking the Beagle Channel, two miles west of downtown Ushuaia. The hotel's five bedrooms feature large windows with canal and mountain range views. The owners serve complimentary breakfast each morning accompanied by a note that explains a local legend -- the hotel's name translates as "Land of Legends." For dinner, the hotel restaurant, which is only open to guests, offers Patagonian seafood and meat dishes, along with a selection of Argentinian wines. The hotel also features a living room with books, board games and a video library.
- The House is situated in downtown Ushuaia, within walking distance of the pier and the Museum of the End of the World. Frommer's describes the hotel as having a "bohemian" feel. The hotel features seven spacious bedrooms with beams and rafters, warm decor and large windows that offer natural lighting. The hotel serves a complimentary buffet breakfast in the living room overlooking the bay. The hotel provides complimentary transportation to the airport and nearby ski resorts.
