    • 1). Open your Start menu, click "Control Panel" and open "System and Maintenance."

    • 2). Click "Administrative Tools," open "Computer Management," click "Disk Management" and then right-click on your hard disk and select "New Simple Volume" from the menu.

    • 3). Click "Next" and then type in the size of the partition you want to create. Click "Next" again.

    • 4). Click "Next" twice and click "Finish" to create the partition and format it so that it can hold system files.
