Font Smoothing With GDI++

• 1). Download the GDI++ Application (see Resources). It is a Japanese application that can be used to emulate the same smoothing present in the Mac OS.
  
  
• 2). Extract the files to a directory of your choice. Open the directory and launch the "gditray" application. A small circle with the letter "G" will appear in the taskbar. Right-click the icon and select "Enable." You should be able to note a change in the appearance of fonts by this point.
  
  
• 3). Use the "gdixxtuner" application (included with the other files) to make additional customization. Using this application you can change settings such as the boldness, italic slant, contrast, gamma values and even control over the anti-aliasing settings. On the whole, it provides a great deal of flexibility and control over your system font.
  
  

Snow Transformation Pack

• 1). Download the Snow Transformation Pack to give the entire Windows user interface a makeover. This package is designed to make your PC look and feel more like a Mac. If done manually, the entire transformation process can become very tedious, but this package quickly does all the detail work for you. Included in the package is a font smoothing feature.
  
  
• 2). Extract the compressed file into a directory of your choice.
  
  
• 3). Restart your computer in safe mode.
  
  
• 4). Open the extracted directory and launch the STP installer. Follow the on-screen instructions and select one of the three modes of installation: Completed, Performance or Custom. With the Completed mode, the package will be installed in its entirety. With the Performance mode, a third-party application, such as RocketDock, will not be installed. With the Custom mode, you can choose to install individual settings and applications. For example, if you want just the font smoothing, you can do that in Custom mode.
  
  
• 5). Restart the computer at the end of the installation process.
