How to Get the Mermaid Hair Look
- 1). Brush through the hair with the paddle brush to remove any tangles.
- 2). Divide your hair into two sections, by creating a parting with the rat-tail comb that runs vertically over the middle of the scalp. Clip the right-hand section of hair down onto the head with a large hair clip.
- 3). Divide the left-hand section of hair into two sections, one at the front of the head, and one at the back. Clip the top section of hair onto the head with the large hair clip.
- 4). Turn on your curling iron and allow it to heat up. Separate about a quarter of the loose section of hair with your fingers. Wrap the entire length of this piece of hair around the barrel of the curling iron, until the end of the hair is secured underneath the clamp.
- 5). Allow the heat to set the curl in place. The amount of time needed to do this depends on the temperature of the curling iron you're using. Expect at least 5 and 15 seconds.
- 6). Release the clamp and unravel the hair from the curling iron. Hold the hair spray several inches away from the piece of hair and spray it evenly.
- 7). Repeat this curling technique with the rest of the loose sections of hair. Repeat with the front section of hair. Divide the right-hand side of hair into two sections and repeat on both sections until the entire head of hair is curled.
- 8). Spray the hair with a thin layer of shine spray.
