How to Do a Chiffon Bun

  • 1). Lay a piece of chiffon on a flat surface. Choose a perfectly square piece. The size of the piece depends on how thick you want the bun when complete. A medium-size bun is a 12-by-12-inch piece of chiffon.

  • 2). Pinch the center of the fabric with one hand and grasp the fabric, just under the pinch, with your other hand. Pull the second hand down until you reach the bottom of the fabric. Wrap a rubber band around the bottom of the chiffon to hold it together.

  • 3). Keep one hand around the rubber band and twist the fabric with the other hand. Coil the twisted fabric down into a circle around the rubber band. Use the opposite hand to keep the bun in place.

  • 4). String a needle and thread. Sew along the bottom of the bun, interweaving the needle and thread, to attach the coils together. Tie off the thread to finish the bun.
