Sri Lanka is a traveler's paradise, it was known as a beautiful country from ancient times but the civil war which lasted for 30 years gave the tourism Industry a big jolt.
Fortunately, Tourist were never target but still there were possibility of being caught in the cross fire.
But, with the end of war, Tourism Industry is flourishing like anything.
It is worth mentioning that Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon before independence in 1948.
It is located in the southern coast of India between Arabia and East Asia.

This island is also known as the Pearl of the Orient, or the pearl of the Indian Ocean.

Although the tourist can enjoy the sun and swimming in the sea in almost every beach in the country, but there are spectacular and favorite beaches which are very popular among tourists.
Beaches like Trincomalee and Nilaveli are very popular among the tourists which were opened recently.
Tourists will be delighted to learn that "Nilaveli Beach" is considered one of the best places for surfing.
There are many other activities, such as whales and dolphins watching, diving and surfing for tourists.
Another attraction is Wild Life Safari; exploring wild life safari is very popular activity among tourists.
Besides "Yala national park", which is very famous, there are many other nature reserves and national parks across the country.
Animals like elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, wild boars, deer, monkeys, can found almost in all national parks and can also are seen easily.
