How to Make Fall Themed Canning Jar Candles
- 1
Choose pretty colors and nice smells.
Fill a mason jar with the fall potpourri. Good fall scents include cinnamon and spice blends, as well as apple smells. Leave about 1 inch of the jar empty. - 2). Work a taper candle down through the potpourri until it touches the bottom of the mason jar. The potpourri should hold the candle upright. If it does not look secure to you, add more potpourri to the jar until the candle is firmly in place.
- 3). Tie a large bow around the jar using the wire-edged ribbon. Leave enough ribbon that the bow can have decorative tails. Use the wire to make the bow full and fluffy.
- 4). Cut the "heads" off the artificial flowers. This will give them a flat back and make them easier to attach to the candle.
- 5
The chrysanthemum is a gorgeous fall flower that come in a vast array of colors.
Hot-glue an artificial chrysanthemum to the center of the ribbon bow. You may need to hold the flower in place for a few seconds to make sure it sticks securely. - 6). Use your candle as a fall decor accent. You can make more than one and line them up on the edge of your porch, or use them as presents for neighbors and guests. You can even arrange several of different sizes along with some pine cones to make a rustic centerpiece for your table.
