Smoking is expensive in Australia the average smoker spends $100 a week or more that's $5000 a year and a fortune over a lifetime.
Yet money is not a good enough reason for quitting according to most smokers.
Most people will find the cash for smokes, even if they are struggling.
While money spent on smokes isn't a reason for quitting, often money is a reason to not quit.
You can quit for free, but few manage it, many methods cost between $300 and $500.
This money would be recouped in a few weeks.
But many many times smokers delay and delay, finding reasons not to quit.
The car needs new brakes, another bill has come in.
Sure some things need to be attended to, but the savings are so immediate, so not having the cash is just another excuse.
