I used to think that painting or other forms of art was exclusive only to the people that could draw objects quickly and with a mirror image of the topic that they would paint.  Since I started taking an online acrylic painting course I found this to not neccessarily be the case.  I signed up for the course on a whim and it's the most interesting class that I have ever taken.

The dvd's are promptly delivered to my doorstep and an instruction on the topic for me and my fellow online classmates are to paint, is explained step by step thoroughly, what we are to paint.  Our first lesson was clouds.  After much practicing on acrylic paper I actually came up with something 3d that looking as though it popped off of the canvas.  I was thrilled! 

Other lessons have been about different ways to paint clouds, how to paint landscapes, painting trees from the skeleton on up,  how to paint topics to show distance.

I have found art to be extremely relaxing and I love to immerse myself in the topic that I am working on.  Art is excellent therapy to relieve stress.

I love the way the acyrlic paint is easy to blend and the colors are vivid.  I also found that I was still pretty green about painting and there were plenty of techniques to learn.  Art has taught me patience because of the many layers that you apply when creating a picture.

In our class the students and our instructor interact through the forum and we're able to help each other and discuss different things that we are working on.  My teacher is an established artist that makes a living in art.  The art pictures that I have seen that he has painted are beautiful.

If you have a love of art like I do or are just looking for a way to destress I would highly reccomend taking this course.  The instructor is Tim Gagnon and you can find him on youtube and watch his art tutorials or if you would like an indepth course in art sign up for classes on his website.  Classes go pretty fast.

I can't wait for my next lesson of learning how to paint water!
