NEW YORK

Missing time. Robert had a most unusual experience when he was driving with his family from New York City to Syracuse, New York. They had made the trip before, so Robert was familiar with the route on New York's thruway and about how long it would take: about 5 hours. They had made rest stop along the way, and as they got back into their car it had begun to rain heavily, but they drove on.

"There was a faint glow on the highway just beyond a hill," Robert says, and my wife turned to me and said, 'It looks like we're driving off the edge of the Earth.' I turned to look at her, and when I turned back to the road, it was day light, sunny - and we were on the outskirts of Syracuse! That was a total distance of about 300 miles... and 8 hours had transpired!" Full story.

NORTH CAROLINA

Alien intentions. It was summer, 1983 when Carolina Girl and her brother had a disturbing UFO encounter in Salisbury, North Carolina. After dinner, she and her brother were cleaning up and had gone outside to take leftover scraps to the compost pile. It was dusk and they were astonished to see a huge flying saucer hovering over High Rock Lake. They both blacked out, and when they regained consciousness it was dark. They snuck into the house to find their parents staring blankly at the TV screen. Four hours had passed! Carolina Girl believes she is still being visited by the aliens. Full story.

NORTH DAKOTA

Thunderbird sighting. In September, 2009, an Air Force military police officer saw something very strange in the sky while on patrol, his father tells us. While taking a cigarette break, the young soldier spotted what he at first thought was a black hang glider in the sky. "He grabbed his night vision equipment from the Humvee to make sure of what he was looking at," his dad says, "so that if it was someone trying to breach the perimeter fence he could call it in with a positive I.D. to the base command." But this was no intruder on a hang glider. What he saw was a huge bird with a wingspan he estimated to be about 20 feet. He watched it as it flew away toward Canada. Full story.

OHIO

Brownies in the woods. Most people don't take reported sightings of elves, fairies and brownies very seriously, yet are they any more peculiar than sightings of ghosts, aliens or chupacabras? Patrick was a manager of a youth residential camp in eastern Ohio in June, 1998. One evening, the camp's naturalist was taking the kids on a hike in the woods, but a brewing storm forced them to turn around and head back to camp. On the way back, several of the children told the naturalist that they were seeing little people in the woods, which he dismissed as shadows caused by the storm's lightning. The kids had been divided into two separate groups to make the hike back, and oddly they both reported seeing the same thing. One kid said he even tried to touch one of the beings, but his hand went right through it! Full story.

OKLAHOMA

Bizarre cookie lover. Heike and her husband had a very strange experience in 1986 that involved a plate of cookies and a strange creature. They at the time were living in a duplex in Tulsa, Oklahoma, not far from the downtown area. One afternoon, Heike came home with a plate of chocolate chip cookies, left over from a luncheon at work. She placed them high atop the refrigerator in the kitchen. That night as she and her husband were watching TV, their dog began to act strangely, and then they heard a clattering noise from the kitchen. They went to the kitchen to investigate, remembering they had left the back door wide open. As they entered the kitchen, they were shocked by its coldness, but even more shocked by the sight of some large, unknown animal running out of their backyard and bounding effortlessly over a four-foot-tall fence. They couldn't tell what it was. Then they noticed the plate of cookies, which had been somehow taken from the top of the 66-inch high refrigerator and placed neatly on the floor! Only one cookie had slid off the plate. Full story.

OREGON

Black-eyed kids. One of the first reports we received about the so-called black-eyed kids came from Tee back in 2004. Tee was an apartment manager in Portland, Oregon and wasn't always comfortable with the people who came to look at apartments, but she was particularly unnerved by one 17-year-old kid who came knocking one afternoon. "I remember feeling very scared and shaken by his appearance," Tee says. "He did not look weird by his dress or such. It was his eyes. I remember feeling the hair on my neck stand up, and I was shaking just from looking in his eyes. The eyes were completely black - like there was no real pupil. I shook for hours after that. I called my daughter at work and told her about it. She told me about the 'black-eyed kids.' I am still afraid of that image of his eyes." Full story.
