    • 1). Check the fabric label for washing restrictions and instructions. If the fabric label says "dry-clean only," take the fabric to a dry cleaner.

    • 2). Put on rubber gloves.

    • 3). In an inconspicuous place, spray the fabric with a stain remover to test for colorfastness. If color does not lift from the fabric, wet it with cool water and spray the stained area with the stain remover. Rub by hand.

    • 4). Rinse the fabric under cold running water to remove as much of the ink as possible.

    • 5). Machine-wash in hot water with laundry soap and a non-chlorinated, fabric-safe bleach or as instructed on the label.

    • 6). If Step 5 does not totally remove the ink, place the stained area of the damp fabric stain-side up on a piece of paper towel. Spray the ink stain with hair spray and scrub gently with a soft nail brush.

    • 7). Rinse with cold water and repeat Step 6 until the ink is completely out. Wash and dry the fabric as usual.
