How Can I Reinstall IE8 in Windows Vista?
- 1). Open a Web browser window and navigate to the "Internet Explorer 8" download page at Microsoft.com. If IE8 was the only web browser on your computer before you uninstalled it, then you will need to perform these steps on a separate computer and transfer the downloaded file to your computer with transferable media, such as an external hard drive or USB flash drive.
- 2). Click the "Select your version" drop-down menu and choose the 32- or 64-bit version of Windows Vista. If you don't know which version of Windows Vista you have, click "Start," right-click "Computer," and then click "Properties." Your version of Vista is displayed next to "System Type."
- 3). Click the blue "Download" button, and then save the file to your computer. If you are saving the file to transferable media on a secondary computer, select the transferable media from the "Download" pop-up window.
- 4). Double-click the downloaded file, and then follow the prompts to complete the installation. If you have downloaded the file to transferable media on another computer, you will need to eject the media from that computer, then connect it to your computer prior to launching the installation file.
