If you've ever asked your dentist about your options for whitening your teeth, the first thing you were probably told is that laser whitening is the best way to go.
And it's true.
Laser whitening gives you a beautiful smile, but then again, so do hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening kits.
The only difference is that one costs $500 and the other can cost you less than $10 (if you find the right product).
But, this article isn't about comparing the two methods of whitening.
It's about giving you 5 tricks that will enhance the effectiveness of your peroxide teeth whitening experience.
Five simple secrets that will leave you paying less than $10 for a dentist grade smile...
Trick #1 - Here's a secret I found when I first began whitening my teeth from home.
I started brushing with Sensodyne and mixing it with a dab of baking soda.
After doing this I found my teeth getting much whiter than they normally would.
Not only that, but it completely eliminated any sensitivity I had from the whitening process.
Experiment for yourself, you'll find that it works exponentially better than brushing with a regular toothpaste.
Trick #2 - Here's a tip that gets overlooked quite a bit.
It's extremely important that you brush and floss right before you begin using the hydrogen peroxide kit.
If you do this, you'll find your teeth staying whiter for longer periods of time, as well as an increase in the effectiveness of your teeth whitening efforts.
Trick #3 - I haven't seen this trick anywhere on the internet, so I figured I'd share it.
Drink 8 glasses of cold water during the day.
Notice how I said cold...
New research suggests that warm water interferes with the peroxide contained in teeth whitening kits, whereas, cold water seems to help speed up the teeth whitening process.
So, stick with cold water while you whiten your teeth.
Trick #4 - If you have bad breath, you're not going to like this tip too much.
But from my experiments with teeth whitening, I've found that using a mouthwash often has a negative impact on my smile.
While you use the hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening kit, refrain from using a mouthwash.
And if you absolutely must use one, purchase one that doesn't have alcohol in it (Oral B springs to mind).
Trick #5 - Last but not least, make sure you purchase a hydrogen peroxide teeth whitening kit with over 20% peroxide content.
