Healthy eating must be the at the very foundation of any weight loss program and for anyone wanting to lose a fat tummy.
Eating healthily involves watching the foods that you eat, not necessarily how much food you eat although this doesn't give you licence to eat to excess.
Whilst reducing food consumption is important focusing on the type of food you eat is just as important.
Begin by familiarising yourself with healthy meals and healthy ways of preparing them, and do not ruin good ingredients by cooking them in a way that destroys the goodness.
Probably buying a set of cookery books is an expensive option so why not try the internet which is awash with great recipes.
A quick tip here; avoid eating the same food week in week out as you will quickly lose interest, so be adventurous.
You can make subtle but tasty changes to a meal by experimenting with the addition of a variety of spices and condiments.
Some of my favourite meals have come as a result of throwing some random ingredients together and coming up with great tasting food.
In tandem with healthy eating, regular exercise is also important to rid yourself of that fat tummy.
Regular exercise (note I said regular) is vitally important if you are to burn off those calories.
If you haven't been exercising regularly in the past begin slowly, exercise is a great way to lose weight, but you do not want to overdo it, especially at first.
Another quick tip; You must always consult with your doctor or health professional before undertaking any diet or fitness regime.
What is regular? It does depend on the individual and their overall plan but I would say three one hour sessions a week should be the absolute minimum.
No idea where to start with your exercise program you could subscribe to some fitness magazines, again an expensive option so browse the internet.
My preference would be to go out locally for a few jogs then join a gym, as you will get all the help you need there.
Gymnasiums need not be expensive especially local authority run gyms which are staffed with quality assistants.
As a reminder, it is important to start out slowly or at least start with exercises that would be easy for you to complete without any straining.
If you find you are struggling to get motivated why not get with a friend and workout together whether your exercise involves visiting a local gym or just going for a walk at a local shopping centre or a jog around the park.
Having a workout partner will help to keep you motivated you will drive each other on and exercising and losing weight can be fun and exciting for you instead of just a chore To reduce boredom change your routine between the gym, a walk, some housework, a garden session or cycling.
Varying your exercises will work different muscle groups and move that tummy fat and fat accumulations from other parts of your body.
Try keeping a record of your exercise sessions and log your progress.
Review them weekly, good progress should spur you on and slow progress should make you try harder.
If you have a good week and you show improvement then reward yourself by getting that new item of clothing you want or treating yourself to a night out.
Journals and logs have been known to help many individuals looking to lose weight and it may be able to do the same for you.
Try to enjoy the experience if you enjoy what you are doing you will be encouraged to continue which will ultimately bring you success.
My sincere wishes for you success here's to you being lean, strong, and healthy for life.
Let me remind you again please consult with your doctor or health professional before undertaking any diet or fitness regime.
