How to Tie a Decorative Flag Cord
- 1). Fold the cord in half so that one end is the two tassels and the other end is a loop of cord. Now adjust the folded cord so that one tassel is about 3 inches higher than the other tassel.
- 2). Push the loop end of the folded cord through the eye screw, which is the circular, metal opening near the top of the flag pole. Once the loop is through, push both tassels through the loop and pull it tight, forming a decorative knot.
- 3). About one-third down the length of the cords, make a new loop by wrapping both cords around three of your fingers. Push the cords through the new loop, remove your fingers and pull that knot tight, but not so tight it can't be altered. Repeat this looping and knotting four times. After this, tighten all of the knots until they're roughly uniform in size.
