When we deal with Glamour Pictures, the subject is the model as we will be showing the model's stunning face or part of the body to wow the audience, therefore, the term "skin" is very important in glamour images.
The apparent and immediate issue to decide is how much skin should the girl show off and if she feels comfortable with it; another matter to resolve - how to correctly depict the tone of her skin for correct exposure and stunning visual impression.
Glamour image does not simply mean snapshot of a naked model, there is an art to glamour images.
It needs to be impressive and sensual without falling a victim to vulgarity, and you as an artist must make your model feel at ease about exposing her body.
People are all different - so girls might have various preferences: some are willing to be completely nude, others want to wear sensual garments, and some are good with a "golden middle" - while baring herself, have some intimate regions concealed by shadows.
Therefore, as a photographer, you have to consider these things.
Another critical matter is the tone of skin that your model has.
Some models are fair, and some are dark.
Complexions are numerous, due to different origins of your models: white, yellow, brown, black - it takes all sorts of tones.
As an amateur in Artistic Glamour Photography, you may tend to use the same kind of exposure in shooting glamour images disregarding the color of your model's skin.
However, this will hardly bring you awesome results if you don't think about the tonal ranges of skin.
In order to get the best possible glamour image shots, it is very essential, as a photographer, to differentiate fair complexion with darker ones while making the exposure.
If your subject falls more towards the lighter side of the scale, you have to stop your lens down to at least 1/2 stop whereas if the complexion is darker, you might want to open the diaphragm of your camera by 1/2 stop, so it is just the negative depending on what the color of your model is.
Moreover, the part of the exposure plays an important role as well.
Most of the time, it is the face and not the entire body that is the primary focus of the glamour image shot, therefore, you can try making exposure depending on the face of the model rather than the entire body.
Therefore, you have to decide on what part of the body to expose and what color the skin it is, so that you can come with perfect glamour images.
