Hosting a dinner party at home is a great way to gather your friends and family. While people are mingling about at your party you can serve these delightful appetizers before dinner. The appetizers or hors d'oeuvres are typically serve at cocktail hour, it is also a kind of preview of what the main course will be. Mind you its not your typical canapes or deviled eggs, it's something different with a Mexican flavor to it. Here are three easy recipes that will surely please your guest. They are delicious, hot and so easy to make. The key to a successful dinner party is preparing your food ahead of time. You don't need to slave over it in the kitchen, reheat and serve when your guest arrive.

Jalapeno Cheese Squares


Ingredients

3 to 4 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped

1 large onion, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

1 pound sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

6 eggs, beaten

Direction

*Pre-heat oven in 350°F

*Grease a baking sheet pan

*Place onions, peppers and garlic in pan

*Sprinkle cheese evenly * In a bowl, beat eggs

*Pour beaten eggs on the vegetables

*Bake for 30 minutes or until they are crispy

*Let it cool before cutting into small squares

Chile Cheese Tortilla Crisp

Ingredients

1 flour tortilla

1/2 cup green chile sauce

3 ounces mild Cheddar cheese, grated

Direction

*Pre-heat oven in 350°F

*Using a knife, cut tortillas into triangles

*Arrange tortilla triangles on a heatproof plate

*Add green chili sauce over over the tortillas

*Top it with grated cheese

*Bake it in the oven for 5 minutes

*Serve this hot and when cheese are all melted

Tortillas au Gratin

Ingredients

8 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, grated

8 oz. cheddar cheese, grated

1 . can green chilies

1/2 cup  green onions, sliced

8 pieces flour tortillas

2 tablespoons butter

salsa sauce

Direction

*Grease a cake pan

*In a bowl mix together chillies, onions and cheese

*Arrange the first layer of tortillas on the pan

*Add the chili cheese onion mixture

*Add a second layer of tortilla

*Repeat these steps until u reach the top part of the pan

*In the last layer of tortilla top it with butter

*Bake it for 20 minutes

*Let it cool before cutting into it in smaller squares

Serve this with a bowl of salsa
