• Crouse Hospital is a provider of substance abuse programs. Outpatient substance abuse programs feature a day treatment program for adults who have problems with substance abuse. Therapy is administered as a group or in individual sessions which feature vocational exploration, leisure skills education and chemical dependency education. Treatment sessions last for six hours Monday through Friday.
  
  An evening treatment program is structured for patients who work, attend school or are primary caretakers of young children or parents during the day. This program meets three times a week and includes individual treatment sessions.

Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare

• The Syracuse Behavioral Center administers programs for people dealing with substance abuse. The center has inpatient services that treat withdrawal from alcohol and other substances, provide medical monitoring for people who are incapacitated to due alcohol and substance abuse, provide individual and group counseling, education and acupuncture treatment. The typical stay is 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the individual plan of the patient. There are also outpatient and residential services which provide daycare for younger children while parents are in treatment, structured living environments and individual or group counseling. • Firetree is an organization that provides substance abuse treatment programs in Syracuse. The organization provides long and short term treatment options and uses the 12-step recovery program that provides alcohol education, motivational enhancement therapy, life skills development, after care planning and relapse prevention. The organization also offers outpatient services, such as counseling and health assessments. The cost of treatment can be covered by managed care, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, First Priority Health Service and self pay. Payment for counseling ranges from $30 to $65 an hour.
