How to Remove the Menu Bar on the IE7 Registry

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" menu button and type "regedit."

    • 2). Press "Enter." If Windows asks for permission to continue, click "Continue." The Registry Editor will open and display keys on the left side of the window.

    • 3). Double-click "HKEY_LOCAL_USER" and then double-click "Software" to open that key.

    • 4). Double-click "Microsoft" and then double-click "Internet Explorer" to open that key.

    • 5). Locate the "Main" key and double-click it. A list of sub-keys will appear on the right side of the window.

    • 6). Double-click "AlwaysShowMenus." A pop-up window will open.

    • 7). Type the number zero (0) in the "Value Data" text box and click "OK."

    • 8). Click "File" and select "Exit" to exit the Registry Editor.

    • 9). Open IE7 and verify that the menu bar does not appear.
