The expectations before test
The little sister of the tablet Motorola Xoom 2, the Media Edition, adopts a format 8.2 inches and weighs so much less weight, not more than 380 grams. Apart from this difference in size, this tablet is identical to its big sister, 10.1-inch format. Same components, same screen resolution ... very little change. The reality
First difference, the two Xoom Media Edition is completely surrounded by non-slip material and its two optical sensors are placed on the shorter side. So, unlike the two large Xoom, the Media Edition rather is designed to be held vertically in portrait mode.
Easy to use
Soon, we found that due to its small size and its lighter weight, this version 8.2 inches is far more pleasant to use and does not tire the wrists. This small size model has all the features of the two great Xoom and its screen resolution is the same (1280 x 800 pixels). Suddenly, the Media Edition offers a finer display than the Xoom 2, giving a better visual impression to the user.
The same performance
The Media Edition components are identical to those of Xoom 2, we found similar performance between the two shelves. We only noticed a slight difference: the Xoom Media Edition 2 is twice as slow as 2 Xoom to write on its internal memory storage. However, this does not influence too much the practical performance of the tablet.
Requires smaller battery, the autonomy of Xoom Media Edition 2 is less than two hours to that of its big sister in video mode (6 hours 20 minutes 8 h against 35 min). The gap is even slightly larger in wireless communication: 6 h 23 min 8 hr 52 min cons.

Recently updated to Android 3.2.2, this tablet provides the same software environment that Xoom 2. Suffice to say not much, apart from the good system Motocast manufacturer. Note that the Xoom Media Publishing operates its two photo sensor as well as her big sister.
Review conclusion
During our tests, we soon preferred the Xoom 2 Media Edition to its big sister format 10.1 inches. However, the final conclusion remains broadly the same: to make pretty pictures hand and offer a high quality design, this tablet has not much to object to the current competition.
