Can I Use My Netflix Streaming at Work?
- Check with your employee handbook or your employer to see the company policy regarding this type of computer use at work. It is possible for you to use your own computer at work with the installed application which allows you to stream movies anywhere you have Internet access. To watch movies at work using a work computer, log into your Netflix account on that computer and you will be able to stream movies.
- Depending on what computer devices you use at work, Netflix streaming may not be possible. Computers that belong to the office may not accept the software as it could be blocked. However, laptops or other handheld devices that are personally yours will not have problems streaming movies or documentaries at work as long as the Internet connection is fast enough. Dial-up Internet connections do not work well for streaming any type of content.
- If you want to watch Netflix while at work using an iPod, iPad or iPhone, download the app that allows you to stream using Netflix. You need to have at least version 3.1.3 or later on your device. If you have an earlier version the app may still work, but it will be slow and may stop to retrieve the content throughout the movie. The app is free as long as you already have a Netflix account.
- You can set up a Netflix account for your workplace to stream work-related documentaries during meetings or take advantage of instructional movies or TV shows for training purposes. You can even set up a television in a break room or lunchroom where employees congregate during certain times of the day and stream content that you would like them to see.
