In the house cleaning business, there are two types of clients: residential clients and commercial clients.
It actually doesn't really matter which type of client you will focus your business on; as long as you know how to run a cleaning business, you can make your business work.
When you go focus on residential clients, the processes involved are much simpler and a cleaning business opportunity is easier to acquire.
When they hire you, they simply call you and tell you that they want you to service their home.
When they pay you, they usually just hand you a check or the amount in cash.
However, when it comes to commercial clients, you will need to submit proposals and bid against other cleaners to get the job.
Also you will need to specialize on some things when it comes to cleaning commercial establishments; although the monetary returns are way bigger than those with residential clients.
Cleaning Business Proposals Basically, a proposal is a written document that you give to the company in which the contents outline what you intend or propose to do for the client (commercial client, of course).
A proposal is required if you wish to do business with a commercial client.
Commercial clients are big companies and they simply want to get the best deal.
Hence, all cleaners should submit a proposal, bid for the job, and the company reviews their proposals and chooses the best one for the job.
Reasons Why Proposals Are Required Most companies require a proposal simply because it is necessary for the job.
For most companies, it is SOP (standard operating procedure) to require one.
In big institutions and companies everything is usually documented and has to be in writing.
Hence, the need for a proposal is need for the "cleaning service folder".
For some, it can be a "brush off".
Although it may sound like a cleaning business opportunity, it is actually the opposite.
Some clients find it difficult to say "no", so they instead ask for a proposal and every time you follow it up, they just say it is still under review.
And last, but not least, it might actually be a factor in the decision making process.
Some commercial clients may like to compare proposals of the ones they have selected from the bunch, and select from it.
Hence, in this industry, may you be in the house cleaning business or focusing on commercial ones, it all boils down to your effectivity and strategies.
As long as you strive to be good on how to run a cleaning business, you can do it!
