    • 2). Contact the Supportive Housing Network of New York at (646) 619-9640. Since supportive housing is partially paid by the government; you will need to find out if the state government has any needs for additional housing. Find out what the requirements are to become a landlord.

    • 3). Find a non-profit organization in your area that provides housing for adults with special needs. Call or visit the organization to determine if they need any landlords or additional housing. The non-profit will also be able to provide you with any local resources.

    • 4). Register as a Section 8 landlord. Although not all Section 8 tenants will have special needs, many will have some type of disability. If you decide you want to accept Section 8 tenants, you will need to contact your local Housing and Urban Development office. Before you can accept Section 8 tenants, your rental property will have to be inspected to be sure it is a safe and clean property.
