  As of October, 2010, AOL 9.5 is the latest version of the America Online classic software. Before the Internet became popular, AOL had a graphical system which included access to its forums and other exclusive content. Users would connect directly to AOL with the AOL software and would use it to browse the site. AOL 9.5 now also includes Internet access. The system requirements include Windows XP/Vista/7, 128MB of RAM, 166Mhz Pentium or better processor and 460MB of hard drive space. The computer must also have an Internet connection. This means that effectively, any laptop manufactured as of October, 2010 is compatible with AOL 9.5.
