How to Make Beaded or Braided Necklaces
- 1). Cut the jewelry wire to the length you desire. You can make a short choker-style necklace or a long strand. If you make it extremely long, the necklace can be looped around the neck several times.
- 2). Attach one side of the necklace clasp to one end of the jewelry wire. This will hold the beads on the wire.
- 3). String the beads. You can do all one color or make a pattern with several colors. A random order of colors gives a necklace a fun, playful look.
- 4). Attach the other end of the clasp to the open end of the wire. This will secure the beads on the wire and allow you to wear the necklace.
- 1). Cut three pieces of wire, all the same length. The wire should be several inches longer than you want your finished necklace to be. The braiding will take up some of the length.
- 2). Attach the three strands to one side of the necklace clasp. One end of all three strands should be secure in the clasp.
- 3). Add a few inches of beads to each strand. You can choose one color for each strand or mix it up a little. Tiny beads are best for this necklace, so it braids better.
- 4). Braid the three strands a few times until you reach the end of your beads. Slide one larger bead onto all three strands.
- 5). Add more beads to each strand, pausing to braid and add a large bead. Continue until the entire necklace is beaded and braided.
- 6). Attach the three strands to the other side of the clasp.
- 1). Cut three strands of yarn or string a few inches longer than your desired necklace. Tie the strands together a few inches from one end.
- 2). Braid the three strands together. Lay the left strand over the middle, then the right strand over the middle. Repeat with the left then the right until the entire necklace is complete.
- 3). Knot the three strands together to secure. Tie the two loose ends together and slip the necklace over the head.
