How to Paint a Pink and Green Room
- 1). Paint an accent wall. Choose which color you prefer to be dominant and paint all but one wall that color, then paint the blank wall in the other color. Select a full wall whose view is not blocked by furniture or a large television for the best effect. Create straight paint lines in between colors by using an angled paintbrush in the corner.
- 2). Tape off all the architectural details in the room, such as molding, built-in bookcases, wainscoting, mantels and doorways. Paint all of the walls in green and the details in pink, or vice versa.
- 3). Divide the wall in half horizontally. Measure the height of the wall and divide that number in half. Mark that measurement on the wall with a pencil. Use a bubble or laser level to draw a level line around the entire room. Paint the upper half of the room in one color and the lower half in another. Apply decorative molding, such as a chair rail, or a decorative border over the area where the two colors meet.
- 4). Paint the entire room in one color and apply a decorative painting technique, or "faux finish" over the solid walls. Sponging, rag-rolling, combing or glazing are some of the techniques you could choose from.
