Tour itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake (L, D) (G)
Starting from hotel in Hanoi for transferring to Ba Be Lake (7 hour driving - 260 km from Hanoi), famous for its immense crystal water. Stop en route to visit a tea plantation and a sugar factory. Lunch in a local restaurant in Bac Can town.
Arrive at Ba Be Lake. The atmosphere here was something magical and fantastic, perfect retreat for the soul. In the late afternoon, visit surrounding villages, home to a number of ethnic groups: Tay, Nung, San Chi, etc. You may join your hands preparing dinner with your host. Overnight at homestay in Pac Ngoi village.
Day 2: Ba Be (B, L, D) (G)
Breakfast and start our day with a bike ride. We drop by Pac Ngoi and Peng village to explore the newly discovered Hua Ma Cave. This cave is hidden inside a peak and adorned with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Return to local home to have lunch.
In the afternoon, embark a little boat to cruise the emerald Ba Be Lake and soak in its sublime serenity and beauty. The surrounding mountains are covered with lush vegetation, home to diverse flora and fauna. We continue our cruise towards the scenic Dau Dang waterfall, on the way visiting some ethnic minorities. Overnight at homestay in Pac Ngoi village.
Day 3: Ba Be – Cao Bang (B, L, D) (G)
Morning drive on the scenic mountain road from Bao Lac to Cao Bang town (160km from Ba Be). Meeting the ethnic group of Tho (Tay) and Dzao Tien on the way. We enter the border area between Vietnam and Cambodia around noon, passing golden rice fields lying amid green mountains, small hamlets with dozens of houses on-stilts under the shade of towering clusters of peach trees, and the winding streams with thatch-roofed bridges. Make a visit to Pac Po cave- where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1941 to find out the way to liberate the country.
Visiting this historical area, visitors will learn more about the great life of President Ho Chi Minh which is part- reflected through his optimistic revolutionary verses. The rest of the day is free for relax. Overnight in the hotel in Cao Bang.
Day 4: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Water fall (B, L, D) (G)
After having breakfast at the local house, Begin our morning by visiting Ban Gioc Water fall- the largest waterfall in Vietnam and 90km from Cao Bang town. Situated nears the Sino-Vietnamese border, this is an attractive spot create a poetic, fresh, quiet beauty of water, forest and cloud area mixed with the colourful mountainous ethnic minorities. Have a picnic lunch while contemplate the magnificent waterfall. Continue visit Nguom Ngao cave then back to Cao Bang. Stop at Thang Hen lake - 25 km from Cao Bang, embark for a boat trip to discover this lake surrounded by the forest and rocky formation. Overnight at the hotel in Cao bang.
Day 5: Cao Bang – Lang Son (B, L, D) (G)
Our journey continues through the history of Indochina via the Route Colonial No. 4 (RC 4, also known as thi high way 4) famous for a French military disaster in 1950, passing Dong Khe and That Khe. Arrive in Lang Son (135km) in the late afternoon. Lang Son is a small town where we can find the market well stocked with variety of products imported from China. Overnight at the hotel in Lang Son.
Day 6: Lang Son – Hanoi (B, L) (G)
Morning visit to the Tam Thanh Grotto in Lang Son including Nhat Thanh cave, Nhi Thanh cave and Tam Thanh cave located on the western end of Ky Lua street, inside the chain of mountains, which have the shape of an elephant herd crouching on the grassy field. Transfer back to Hanoi (155km).
