How to Replace Wire Refrigerator Shelves
- 1). Open the refrigerator door remove the contents from the shelves you are replacing.
- 2). Pull the shelf 4 inches out of the front of the refrigerator. Lift up slightly on the front of the shelf, and pull the shelf completely out of the refrigerator.
- 3). Clean the shelf rail or grooves on each side of the refrigerator with a clean cloth.
- 4). Locate the front of the new wire shelf. The front usually has a decorative trim to distinguish it from the back of the shelf. Insert the back of the shelf into the rails or slots on the inside of the refrigerator, at the same angle you used to pull the old shelf out.
- 5). Slide the shelf all the way into the refrigerator until the back of the shelf is flush with the back of the shelf groove or rail.
- 6). Repeat the process with the other shelves, if needed.
