Now, it's crunch time, you don't want to harm your baby, you know that smoking can cause serious problems for your unborn child, such as low birth rate etc.
So here are some tips to quit smoking during pregnancy.
When you're trying to quit smoking during pregnancy, you're in a little bit of a different sort of bind than the normal person trying to quit smoking.
You actually HAVE to QUIT, and you HAVE TO QUIT as quickly as possible.
Your best bet is to go cold turkey.
You don't have the luxury of time, you and you don't have the luxury of failure.
The fact is that cold turkey is fast and immediate.
Second, people who quit smoking cold turkey have the best success rates.
The reason! You're not drawing out the suffering for days and weeks when you don't have to.
When you stop smoking the nicotine leaves your body in about 48 hours.
As long as there's nicotine in your body you will suffer from the withdrawal, even low amounts.
Once it's gone, the withdrawal starts to wean, and you're fine much quicker than you might think.
Plus it's better for you to get and keep all that toxicity away from your unborn baby.
Stay away from your smoke crew.
Not that these people are bad people, but they will trigger anchors in your mind to make you want to smoke.
Just as well, get rid of all the stuff that you have that has to do with smoking.
All cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays...
throw them away.
The harder it is to light up, the less chance that you'll do it.
