How to Remove Oven Cleaner from Linoleum

    • 1). Put on a pair of rubber gloves, if you are not already wearing a pair. Wear a nose mask to keep from inhaling the oven cleaner.

    • 2). Wipe up as much of the oven cleaner you can with a rag or shop towel. Use as many rags or shop towels as needed.

    • 3). Place the soiled rags or shop towels in a trash bag or can.

    • 4). Pour 3 cups of warm water into a bucket.

    • 5). Add 2 cups of Comet or another brand of similar cleanser to the bucket of warm water.

    • 6). Agitate the cleanser/water mixture with a brush.

    • 7). Apply the mixture with a brush to the spot where the oven cleaner spilled.

    • 8). Let the cleanser/water mixture set for 15 minutes.

    • 9). Use several paper towels to gently wipe up the cleanser/water mixture. Discard the paper towels in a trash bag or can.

      Dry the area with a paper towel.
