How to Get Into WotLK Raiding as a Warlock in "WoW"
- 1). Level your warlock to 80. Level 80 is a minimum requirement for Wrath of the Lich King raids. Complete quests in Northrend and run 5-man normal and heroic dungeons to gain levels and prepare yourself for raid content.
- 2). Obtain raiding gear. Purchase as many set pieces from your Tier 10 armor set as you can from Justice Emblem vendors in Dalaran. For Warlocks, this is the "Dark Coven" set. To get Justice Emblems, complete random heroic dungeons through the game's dungeon finder utility. Aim to have an average item level of about 251. You may need to purchase additional epic armor pieces and weapons from emblem vendors or from the auction house to raise your gear score.
- 3). Maximize your damage per second (DPS). As a warlock, your primary role in the raid is to deal damage to bosses and enemy mobs. Optimize your build for damage and raid utility and learn your spell rotations. Practice on one of the raid-level training dummies located in your faction's capital cities until you are comfortable with your cast sequences.
- 4). Find a raiding group or guild. Join an established raiding guild or form your own group of players. Post in the game's chat channels to find groups of other players interested in completing Wrath of the Lich King raids. Once you have found a group, schedule regular raiding times with other members.
- 5). Learn the fights. Don't come to a raid unprepared. Read up on bosses and fight mechanics beforehand to avoid unnecessary conflict, DPS loss or death. Discuss and outline your strategy with your raid group prior to engaging the boss and make sure that all players understand the mechanics of the fight and their own roles in it.
