    • 1). Download the Firesheep add-on from codebutler.github.com and take note of where you saved the .xpi file.

    • 2). Start Firefox.

    • 3). lick "Open File..." under the "File" menu.

    • 4). Navigate to the location of your downloaded .xpi file and click "Open." Firefox will read the file and ask if you are sure you want to install the extension.

    • 5). Click "OK."

    • 6). Restart Firefox.

    • 7). Connect to any open network and open the new Firesheep sidebar, which is visible on the left of your browser window.

    • 8). Click the "Start capturing" button.

    • 9). Allow Firesheep to sniff the network and capture cookies. Depending on network traffic, this may take several minutes. Captured sessions will show up as users in the sidebar. To attack a session, simply double-click the user's name in the sidebar. You will connect to the website as the user, and will be logged in as that user.
